Boston is most definitely a city of contrasts. Old red brick paths wind by historic Federalist homes and meet looming glass towers an high rise complexes featuring modern design and technology. The old mingles with the new and makes for a unique and interesting diversity in the city. You won't see many cookie-cutter houses in this city, rather, breathtakingly restored and maintained houses of important historical significance and owners that are fiercely protective of their neighborhoods. There is a feeling of warm inhabitancy in Boston unlike some other major cities in the U.S. Boston is known as a 'walking city' and perhaps that's what gives it the comfortable feel many enjoy.
